About Me

Hey! Hello and welcome to my blog, Heavenly Placed! I’m Cindra, and I’m so glad to see you here.

My Background Story

My background story is probably not very much different than any others. My husband and I met, married, had kids, and had grandkids all in the blink of an eye.

Anyway, that’s how it seems to be.

In reality, we’ve been married for 40+ years. We have nine children and more than a dozen grandchildren, with more on the way.

We’ve lived on our family-owned farm for most of those years, where we run a small cow/calf business.

I started this website, Heavenly Placed, as an outreach to Christian women because I have a desire to encourage women as they work our their own faith-walk.

The term heavenly placed is taken from Ephesians 2:4-6.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:46 (ESV)

And here are my thoughts. God loved us so much (it’s a message that runs throughout the Bible) that even before we knew Him, He prepared a way for us to spend eternity with Him.

He devised a plan for us to made alive with Christ because we were born into sin and our destination was death. However, God offeres us grace–unmerited favor–when He gives us the opportunity to receive His free gift of salvation.

And then after providing that free gift, (here it comes…) He picks us up out of our sinful lives and places up in the heavens with Christ Jesus. I literally picture myself sitting beside Jesus, my Savior, as God shows me all the good things He has planned for my life!

So that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:7

Why?

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 4:8-9

Heavenly Placed is the position we hold as Christians after accepting God’s free gift of salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, God’s only begotten Son.

The eternal life we receive in Christ Jesus is all the work of Jesus, Himself. You have only to accept it. There’s only one step to Eternity!

One-Step to Eternity

Jesus did all the work.

  • He is God who came to earth in human form
  • Through the miraculous virgin birth (begotten of God)
  • Fulfilled all the prophesies foretold of Him
  • Lived human life without committing one sin
  • Fulfilled God’s requirement for the redemption of all by taking our sins upon Himself as He suffered on the cross
  • He laid dead in the grave for three days
  • Became the first to be resurrected from the grave after the third day
  •  Now sits at the right hand of the Father, making intercessions for those who know Him as Lord.

The one-step you need to take:

  1. Accept the work that Christ did for you.

“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved.” ~Romans 10:8-10

Hold up, though…this isn’t a gift that’s to be taken lightly. Jesus warns in Luke 9:62 that one should not accept this gift without giving it some consideration.

Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

So, what does He mean by that?

Luke 9 talks about the cost of following Jesus. It’s what it will cost you if you decide to make Jesus the Lord of your life. The first cost is that you are surrendering to following His will and not your own.

Secondly, somethings you enjoy now may be lost.

  • ungodly friends may not want you around anymore
  • places where you enjoy hanging out may not be the best place for you anymore
  • your priority shifts from serving self to serving God

Thirdly, this is a lifetime commitment. Salvation is forever. Once you accept the free gift of salvation, God seals you with the seal of His Spirit and you forever belong to Him. If this is a scary thought, this gift may not be for you.

However, if this is a thought that thrills your soul then, praise the Lord, you may be ready for God’s gift of eternal life!

I hope you’re ready to commit your life to God, it will truly be the best decision you ever make–for now and forever. But just know it’s more than a prayer and a promise from you. You are committing to a relationship with the Creator of the Universe, and it will be a spectacular experience!

I hope to see you on the other side of eternity!

“Father, open the eyes of those who need to see the truth of Your salvation. May their heart be receptive to receiving Your Son as the substitutionary payment for the sin-debt that was imposed on the human race when Adam and Eve broke Your commandment. May Your name be glorified as this truth compels each person to secure their eternal life with You. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.”
