Meeting With God

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. -Hebrews 4:16

Do you ever think that you would like to meet with God? Set up a time with Him to grab a cup of coffee or maybe over Zoom; perhaps meet up with God for a weekend to discuss your life’s questions.

That would be wild!

Well, as much as we want to meet with God, He wants to meet with us. He desires a relationship with us, but it’s up to us to cultivate that relationship. He has already gone all the way to meet up with us-He sent His Son to purchase our redemption.

Ways We Can Meet With God

“You can have as much God as you wish.” -A.W. Tozer

How much do we want to know God?

We Can Meet Up With God Through Bible Study

God is always accessible. We can find God’s guidance in our lives through Bible study. But we have to want that relationship. Bible study takes time and commitment but can be as easy as opening your Bible and begin reading it. However, if you want to go deeper, find a free online Bible study like this website, heavenlyplaced.com, or purchase a devotional. I have one I recently published, “Comfort Beside Still Waters.” Click for more info. This is a more structured approach

We Can Meet Up With God Through Christian Fellowship

We can also access God through Christian fellowship. Whether it be in church or a small group gathering, God promises us that He will be there with us.

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.”

-Matthew 18:20

When we are with fellow Christians we are able to talk to others about Him and be encouraged by the stories others tell us about their experiences.

We Can Meet Up With God Through Prayers

The most effective way to set up a meeting with God is through prayers. Humbly coming before the throne of grace with our praises and petitions puts us smack dab in the middle of the most important time of the day-spending time with God.

“Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.” -Psalm 86:6

Prayer can be as simple as bowing our heads and speaking to God quietly in our spirit. However, we don’t have to speak to God quietly, we can be in the woods shouting His praises, or join hands with friends in a prayer circle, or having a prayer conversation among a small group of friends.

Meeting with God is the most important meeting in our day!
