That’s Who God Is

“To whom then will you compare Me, that I should be like him?” says the Holy One.  Isaiah 40:225 (ESV)

That’s A Fact

A few years ago, I took my vehicle into the Ford dealership to have the oil changed; they had an info commercial playing in the lobby on a continuous cycle. They were comparing Ford with other makes of vehicles. My attention was piqued when I heard the host say, “A fact is true whether you believe it or not.”

What a statement!

Truth does not depend on our beliefs. People used to believe that the world was flat. But the whole time that they believed that the world was flat did not make it true. When they discovered that the world was round, they were simply learning a fact about the world that had been true from the beginning of time.

To discover Who God is, we have to find the truth about God that has always been there.

God is Creator

No one or nothing exists without Him. He created all things, and He continues to sustain all things. (John 1:2-3)

God is Trinity

God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When we speak of God, we usually refer to the Father. However, to think that the Father is greater than the Son or the Son greater than the Spirit is wrong. All three are equal; all three are God.

God is Father

God is a Father to us who has accepted the gift of salvation offered to us by Christ’s work on the cross. We are adopted into the family and become co-heirs with Christ, and we receive the Holy Spirit’s presence living in our very being.

God is Spirit

This human body restrains us as we worship God with our spirit. God is Spirit, and we are human. (John 4:24) The Holy Spirit intercedes for us as He takes our prayers to the Father’s throne. (Romans 8:26-27)

God is I Am

When Moses asked God Who he should tell the Israelites was sending him, God answered, I AM. Exclusively, I AM was sending him. Lord above all lords. The One Who has no beginning and no end.

God is

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “Who is and Who was, and Who is to come, the Almighty.” -Revelation 1:8
